Shirodhara Training | Fall 2022

Shirodhara is a subtle yet very profound treatment with powerful impact in our mind and emotions.

In this 2-day workshop you will learn:

Day One: Ayurveda & Shirodhara

• Introduction to Ayurvedic bodywork: an overview
• Shirodhara: the subtle therapy
• Benefits and physiological effects of Shirodhara
• The client: Individual constitution (prakruti) and current state of wellness (vrikruti)
• The state of being and the driving force behind the therapist
• The ideal environment, frequency and time for Shirodhara
• Indications, precautions, and contra-indications for Shirodhara

Day Two: The Practice

• Preparation of the treatment space
• Preparation of the oils and equipment
• Customizing the temperature, amount and flow of the oil (and other substances)
• Performing Shirodhara
• Supportive Tools (Intake form, intructions for the client, etc.)
• Cleaning of the room, equipment and disposal of the used oil
• Resources (types of equipment, oils, additional training, relevant articles, books, etc.)

About your instructor: Carol Jamault is a Certified Health & Life Coach, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), and Registered Yoga Instructor (RYT-200). She supports her clients in stress management and self-care through an integrative approach to wellness by providing bodywork services, consultations, and curated information and products to restore balance, improve individual wellness, and to boost vitality. Carol has been studying alternative healing, ethnobotany, circadian medicine, and Ayurveda since 2001. She is the founder of Hridayam Bodywork & Apothecary.

Course value includes basic materials and oils, handouts and certificate of completion. Class size is limited to up to 8 participants and safety protocols are reinforced at all times during COVID pandemic at the studio.
